Drop-In Youth Garden Programs

Grow Dat Youth Farm Alumni help replant crops after Hurricane Ida

The garden hosts drop-in Afterschool and Saturday garden programming for youth ages 5 to 16. Our Afterschool and Saturday program is drop-in and requires no pre-registration.

Participants learn Louisiana ecology, sustainable gardening, healthy cooking techniques, how to raise healthy and happy chickens and bees, and how to express their creativity with plants.

In the kitchen, we teach basic knife skills and cooking techniques while highlighting the heritage of the produce we grow and use. All of the food we prepare is given to participants and students on campus with extra distributed in the community.
