LaChaun Moore is an ethnographic fiber farmer researcher and interdisciplinary artist and designer. She is the founder of nnia (knee-ah) a small-scale fiber-based farm located on Johns Island in Charleston, South Carolina. LaChaun works with heirloom fiber plant varieties such as Indigofera Suffruticose and naturally colored cotton which are plants that are linked specifically to black and indigenous
ancestries.

She earned her BFA in Integrated Design at Parsons, The New School For Design with a focus on Alternative Fashion Strategies and Social Practice. The goal of her project is to build a brand from farm to fabric while striving for environmental sustainability and social equity within the global textile and fashion industry.
