Sunday Sessions Application

Sunday Sessions invites emerging musical artists who are currently or formerly involved in the criminal legal system to create an EP. We provide cost-free access to a recording studio, engineer, and workshops.

We select artists from all ages and musical genres. The music you create here will belong to you. All we ask for is your commitment to your work and to working with us. Please apply by Feb 20th.

If you have not had experience within the criminal legal system, please apply for the Recording Artist Residency program which will open again in May 2022. If you think you may have obstacles to completing your project now, there will be future opportunities to apply.

Artist Information

Over 4 months, artists will create a 4-6 track EP. Throughout 12 studio sessions you'll record, mix and master your work. You are asked to engage with your project outside of the studio by preparing for next sessions and making notes on mixes and masters. We estimate this additional time commitment to reach eight hours some weeks. In addition to creating a studio project, participation in other residency activities – orientation and artist development workshops – is required. Please answer the following questions in as much detail as you can.

Selection Criteria

We encourage all ages and genres to apply for this residency. When choosing resident artists, the selection committee considers the following: System Involvement - We only accept system involved artists. Priority is given to artists who have been most adversely affected by the criminal legal system. Artist Investment - We consider the artist's investment in creating and completing their project. We look for thoughtful answers to the application questions. Artistic Stage - We are prioritizing emerging artists – applicants who haven’t had the chance to record their music professionally. Access - We consider if the applicant has faced significant obstacles in recording their music.
